Fun on the outside

Smart practice on the inside

Behind the lasers and space snakes is a practice engine built on a few ideas that researchers keep finding really work.

Retrieval, not recognition

In Star Defender kids produce the answer from memory instead of picking it from a list, which builds much stronger recall.

Misses come back

A missed fact returns a few questions later in the same round, and again next session, until it's answered right twice in a row.

Instant feedback

Every keystroke and every bite gets an immediate response, and the results screen shows the right answer for anything missed.

Earned progress

Stars reward accuracy, not just speed. Each new level unlocks by earning a star on the one before it.

Kindergarten to 5th grade

Five levels per skill, from first facts to full fluency

Each level suggests a grade band, but kids move at their own pace. Start anywhere, or unlock everything for your class.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers

Is it really free? Are there ads?

Every game is free to play with no ads, no pop-ups and no in-app purchases. Kids can play without anyone asking for an email address.

What happens to my child's data?

Progress is saved only in this browser on this device. We don't create accounts, and we don't collect names, scores or answers on a server. Clearing your browser data clears progress too.

Which devices does it work on?

Any modern browser on a laptop, Chromebook, tablet or phone. On touch screens, the games show a big on-screen keypad or steering pad automatically.

How long is a round?

Most rounds take two to four minutes, which makes them easy to fit into a morning routine, a station rotation, or the last few minutes of class.

My child is just starting out. Will it be too fast?

Turn on Relaxed mode from the Progress page. Everything slows down, and invaders or crashes no longer cost shields, so younger players can focus on getting answers right.

Ready, player one?

No downloads, no accounts. Pick a game and you're playing in five seconds.
